Description


The role of the Safety Specialist is to Assist the site's goal to obtain a zero-incident culture by leading the plant safety committee and promoting employee engagement to develop an active and robust safety culture. Schedule and plan weekly safety committee and toolbox meetings. Lead, promote and monitor the site's proactive safety program.


 


Near-Miss / Accident Investigations: Lead incident and near miss investigations by utilizing root cause analysis in the accident investigation process. Utilize investigation results to ensure a reduction in future accidents.


 


HSE Support: provide oversight and compliance with corporate and applicable regulatory requirements, activities and projects. Examples include:


€ Maintain and manage site policies and procedures related to safety (lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fall protection, etc.)


€ Provide Industrial Hygiene support for site operations: air monitoring, qualitative exposure assessments, control assessments, manage SDSs, PPE certifications, etc.


€ Conduct Job Safety Analysis for field activities


€ Develop and conduct HSES training


€ Manage and enhance the use of the incident management database


€ Assist with ensuring HSE regulatory requirements and government reporting regulations such as Michigan OSHA Logs, SARA Reports, etc.


 


Other Duties and Responsibilities:


€ Active participation in the site's emergency response teams: technician level hazmat, medical response & confined space rescue


€ Additional activities will be assigned based on skillset and interest level of the candidate


 


Qualifications


€ BS degree required. Preferred disciplines: occupational safety, environmental health and/or industrial hygiene or related 4 year technical degree


€ 0-5 year experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing safety, or related chemical plant experience


€ Ability to perform work indoors and outdoors. Work may involve climbing, working in congested areas, and working around chemical process equipment


€ Strong interpersonal and communication skills


€ Proficient in basic computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Relational Databases).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
